Your Class Fees Make a Difference to Children associated with Mental Illness

$1 from every class will go directly toward mentoring and activity programs for children with special needs. It will provide community awareness and programs that promote positive self-esteem for children who suffer abuse and neglect often associated with the mental illness of a parent or guardian.

Many of these children will learn to parent their parent as well as other siblings at a very young age and can often feel quite invisible as they witness a confusing world. 

Together we can provide support to the 23% of students in our schools who go home to a parent who suffers mental illness. Many will experience some form of abuse or neglect.

A small child knows instinctively that his or her happiness can only be in this very  moment, in the blessed journey of discovery; until sadly we teach them that they are incomplete until they reach the destination. Where is that anyway?  

Gayla and her team will spend much of January and February 2009 touring organisations, schools, and offices spreading the good news about the energising power of Play! For so many people, having fitness in all areas of their lives has become a burden rather than a gift we give to ourselves. Having balanced physical, mental and emotional wellness, loving relationships and a life that we enjoy should be open to all of us in this gifted country. Yet why do so so many people feel like their fast paced life has become too stressful, too hard, even overwhelming? Why is our suicide rate (per capita) in the top 5 countries in the world? 

What would happen if more of us simply remembered how to PLAY with life rather than opting just to survive it! Learning to mix our whole of mind/body/spirit fitness time with social fun-time is a great solution to maximize the amount of time we're doing what we WANT to do rather than what we perceive we MUST do. That thinking alone changes how we feel about the life we're living. That experience is not only possible, it is essential to having a happy life.

Emotional, mental and physical fitness increases productivity, attention span, connection, self-esteem and general well being.
